Hmmm....I am not sure if this is true.
Employers are not allow to ask things like age, gender, religion and marital status for sure. And I agree that these information are not needed in resume. However, there is nothing stopping applicants from disclosing these information.
Not listing grades!?! If you are applying for entry level position and without much work experience, listing your academic results is essential.

yes, you made a point...it is illegal for employers to ask you questions on job application or during an interview in regards to your age, gender, religion, and etc...however, if an applicant chose to disclosing these information, an employer MUST NOT re-phrase or emphasize on such details...kinda have to "go in one ear and go out the other" due to privacy act...Mucha is only suggesting and acknowledging you about your rights as a job applicant in Canada...not limiting you to what you wanna to do, but just becareful what you choose to disclose may not benefit you...
ability to speak multiple languages and emphasize that on your resume or belonging to any professional organizations will definetely benefit you in the application process and making YOU more visible than others...
doesnt matter what type of resume, your should never be listing your grades...you can list the school names, the time periods of your study and your majors, but never more than that...
also, depending on what type of position you're applying for, you should be updating it according to the position applying for...unless you have absolute limited experience then it's "one resume fits all" style...however, if it's a more professional position as Muchas and I are in, we need to emphasize accordingly to the position we're targeting for.
