Apparently not often enough in Vancouver. But don't test it. You will be carrying the guilt if it so happens that the guy you are toying with behind you has his little boy bleeding to death because you served your purpose and delayed him for 5mins. Don't be so hasty of judging all tailgaters as roadrager.
As for calling the ambulance instead of driving to hospital, well, how often do you know exactly where you are and can accurately lead soemone to your location on the road when you call 911? When you are on the road and someone's badly hurt, it would be a great deal faster to drive to a hospital instead of looking up the map, then hoping the operator would understand where you are over the phone.
In anycase, do what you feel like. Just don't tell the cops "I drive 30km/h and made it impossible for him to pass me because I wanted to get even with him for tailgating me" when they come knocking on your door. |
yah drive the patient to hospital, have the "badly hurt" patient lying back seat enjoying the lateral inertia of the car. while the driver drive like a maniac, run over some pedestrians, and end up wrapping himself around the pole. sounds like a real good idea.
why not just spend that few mins, call the ambulance, have the patient well taken care of on the ambulance while it rolls to the hospital without any obstacle?
tailgating is stupid, period. there's nothing to proof on the public streets. as long as the driver drive above 40(i think that's the lower speed limit) he/she should not be harassed.
