| I tried a lot of those that were mentioned. I have to say, Pearl Castle (Yuan Shiang) in Richmond is the best. Their drinks have the most consistent quality. I'm not in anyway related to their owners. Neither do I work there but that's my honest opinion.
Yuan Yuan on Cambie used to be Yuan Shiang but was sold a long long time ago. They were trained by Yuan Shiang but I don't know why their pearl milk tea is just not as good. T Plus in Crystal Mall is also trained by Yuan Shiang. I think they are ok.
Cafe Adante in Surrey is pretty good. They have good green milk tea.
I had Pearl Fever before. Perhaps they improved I don't know. But when I had it, their green tea is too bitter. Little Tea House's milk tea is good if you like more tea taste and less milk. I also found their taro is too watery. They really do have quality control issue among their stores. Hippo's milk tea tastes weird. I personally will not go to Bo Bo accross Metro Town. It just doesn't taste good at all.
To me, regular milk tea, red tea, green tea and pearls are my standard of judgement. Powder drinks and syrup teas require little skills but red tea, green tea and pearls really show the difference! |
