Mazda 3 is a very well build car. I was in the market to get a new car for myself. I was particularly interested in 3 and Matrix.

3 is very well build and high end interior material and work finishing. However the interior space is somehow smaller.

I end up buying Matrix. The interior quality is not as well build as 3, but it offer much more interior space. Another decisive factor is Corolla's reliability and durability. I know the name is there is back up the product. By the way, if you are not aware, Matrix is basically a Corolla with a different casing and some tuning changes.

I have a standard shift Matrix base model with A/C package. Tax included is $23,000. Even if you go with automatic transmission, it will still be under 25K.

Both cars are not bad. But I prefer Matrix for its versatility and usability.
