| Personally, I would agree with your parent and when it's time for me to be a parent, I would do the same. Bikes aren't safe if you are *touchwood* ever in an accident. It's not you that might be doing stupid things but other people's carelessness is totally out of your control and once you are in that situation from no fault of your own, you'll feel it.
Even I've accidentally pulled out in front of a bike and fortunately the bike pulled up in time or else he would have rolled right over the bonnet. The bike wasn't speeding, wasn't doing anything wrong but simply I didn't see the bike. However, if the bike didn't pull up in time and did actually rolled over the bonnet, it would have been a nasty accident and I would have had been re-living that moment for a long long time. |
