econ is really the study of nothing...
they talk all about theory, but nothing practical...
u ask them anything, they'll just say...it is likely for this to happen or not...
they can not make change but rather to study changes...

business ppl make difference. they find opportunity in wost or good economic situation. they creat job for millions ( including the economists)...real business man is heroic...best economist is just FULL of talks...maybe that is what economists learn in schooll...lean to talk....lol

I don't agree with you. Economists are very important especially for Government policies. Interest rate policy anyone? Currency anyone? But you have to be an top economist to land a job there.

But yes, business ppl are everywhere. Here, there, everywhere. Small, medium, and big.

I am an econ major, but only because I cannot get into commerce. But yes I do envy commerce ppl, but no i am not bitter.

Yao's rite, those econ advisors are like that to everyone. Just ignore them.

i posted this thread because i was insulted by an economics professor who basically said i'm a completely dumbass with no economics intuition by studying finance. i simply wanted to let my anger out.

now a new group of people on this forum is pissing me off; people who say economics is useless. i mean guys, please use some brain if you say dumb things like that. do you know how ignorant and immature you made yourself look?

as long u think u are better than others then it is highly likely that u'll be disrespactful to the one u think is "dumb"...

u ask any governor, if they can only have business man or economist in their country which one they would prefere...i bet u at least 60% of them will say business man...remember most of the governors are business man, lawyer...ect...and where are the economist??? yes, working for the goverment, or owner of big coporation...

beside...i think u should just let go of the idea that ppl must respect you, cause really...ppl dont have to if they dont want to.....*shurg...dont be so fragile...be a man....^^

u know what? a business person has to have integrity. do you know what integrity includes? it includes being respectful to other people and people in other field. maybe your first lesson in business is to learn the word integrity, and leadership is not something like "i'm the best so you should obey me." maybe your second reason is to be objective. you know why most of your arguments are flawed? they're extremely subjective.
