BY FAR THE WORST CUSTOMERS SERVICE EVER
NOT GIVING ME MY REBATE CUZ THEY LOST MY UPC CODES AND INSISTED THAT I DIDNT SEND THOSE CODES IN

I "TAPED" THEM TO MY REBATE FROMS........................ IF THEY GOT THE REBATE FORMS, THEY MUST HAVE GOTTEN THE UPC CODES

THEN THEY SAY I HAVE TO SEND THEM IN 2 SEPERATE ENVELOPES??
THE REBATE FORM DOESNT SAY THAT! IT JUST SAID USE SEPERATE FORMS FOR SEPERATED REBATE OFFERS!!

SEND THEM IN 2 SEPERATE ENVELOPES?? HOW IDIOTIC IS THAT??? PAY TWICE THE SHIPPING??????? TO THE SAME ADDRESS??????

SO THEY LOST BOTH OF MY UPC CODES
I END UP LOSING APP $45US
NO WAY TO ARGUE WITH THEM
THEY JUST DONT WANNA SOLVE THE PROBLEMS

DONT BUY TRENDNET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, they confused my rebate with one that expired earlier, and I had to get FutureShop to call them up and clarify the situation. PITA for sure.

MIRs (mail in rebates) are not real savings.
My moto: If I have to get my money back later, it's not discount.

Whenever I see MIRs, I don't buy it.
Hope you've learned your lesson.

When you are dealing with Mail in Rebates (MIR), you are not neccessarily dealing with the manafacturer. Usually large companies like Creative, Logitech, Micosoft are out-sourced to a rebate fulfillement center. Some centers are more efficient than the others. Some are quicker than the others.

How it works:
- You send in the rebate
- Fullfillment centers receives and enter the data (data entry)
- Rebates applications are verified
- Based on the number of rebates, the fulfillment centers request for funds disbursment from the manafacturer (you know how long it takes to get money from cash to account payable???)
- Fullfillment center will issue a check under their account to you.

This process usually takes 6 weeks.

The reason for mail in rebates in Canada is that most merchandises stores buy are not directly from the manafacturer. They buy from a wholesaler or distributor at a fixed price (cost). If the the manafacturers offer promotions, which will sell below cost. The stores will lose the sales, then no one will carry the products. To keep the retailers happy, mail in rebate addresses this issue.

You may say that the manafacturers can give incentives to the retailers directly and save the hassle for mail in rebate. However it dosn't work as efficiently. 1st, as I mentioned, anyone can go to the suppliers and buy wholesale. Therefore, it is very hard for manafacturers to keep track of clients. The wholesaler only acts as immediatary in the process. 2nd, accounting issue, if it will take 6-8 weeks for funds to be reimbursed, it will look really bad to the retailer because their account ratios will be affected because they cannot turn account receivable into cash fast enough. 2 months is a very long time, and it can affect the financial status.

Mail-in Rebates is the win-win situation for manafactuers, retailers and end-users.

When you use mail in rebate, make a copy of everything. So when they ask for it, you will have proof.

Futuxeshop and BxstBuy can deal with the rebate issue for you. Just go to the store with everything and they will re-issue you a check. I just asked for re-imbursement for USD$75 cheque from BB because it took them 1 year yet my status shows "Processing" only.
