讓吸毒者集中管理. 雖然毒品是非法的,
可是還是一定有人會碰毒品~ 那麼與其讓他們提心吊膽的high,
還不如讓他們光明正大的high. 集中管理癮君子應該會減少不少因為吸毒所
造成的不必要事件~ 例如說車禍啦, 打架, 破壞, OD或自殺等等...
不過毒品還是不好的~ 傷腦又傷身喔~ ~~~  :shakehead :shakehead :blast: |

have set up drug centers and PROPER needle disposal boxes
in the public washroom. For them to do it with in a safe
environment we could cut down on violence. With a drug
center, there will be a staff handing them new needles this
would in turn eliminate (or at least cut down) the needle sharing.
Thus, the spread of HIV would slow down. Also this would cut
down the spending by the government to pick up dead bodies
or sending personals to stop violence or OD. | |

Drugs will never 合法化. But before we have a solution all
these problems, this is the best alternative to slow down the
spread of HIV and other mishaps.
Like you said, this is a 政府的公共場所(for drug users), therefore, anyone can go, but if you KNOW that is a drug intake centre, why would u wana go there anyways? That is a centre set up specially for drug users. Just like a mental institute, you know it's a place for patients with mental illness, you wouldn’t wana go there and hang out right? :)

但是有沒有想過每一年我們付了大把大把的稅給政府,而政府卻要建一所吸毒場所...情何以堪....況且最近政府把社會福利預算砍的亂七八糟...學校,老人,健保的預算能砍的就砍...不能砍的就減少經費...要把政府赤字拉回來...這時候居然還有人提議要建吸毒場所...既然政府有那些錢去建...倒不如提供更好的社會福利... | I LOVE THIS, this is a great debate and a healthy thread too!
Yes Drug center cost our tax money to built. However, i have seen
some of them on TV, they are nothing fancy! It is just a building
with one desk and one phone. Some of them have curtains to
give those addicts privacy while they shoot up. The cost of
building is not as high as you think, the money spend on the
center will be cheaper than cops spending time catching ppl on streets. Also the MAIN reason to have a drug center is to STOP needle sharing, which is one of the leading factors of spreading HIV. The cost of treating HIV person and losing lives is WAY more than building a little 1 level building.

Spending our TAX money on drug facility, in short term it will solve drug related problems in downtown area. I support this idea, however, why not just spending more money making them quite?
it is not simple like build a facility and then we can control all the needle sharing problem....
what if the crave for a shot ? they will find anyway to get that shot and dont give a damn about the facility. Bad image to the whole Vancouver community...
Vancouver=drug heaven(cuz they got a place where u can take shots and happy and god damn RCMP cant do a thing about it cuz i m a drug user..!!...)
and u have to hire staff to maintain the facility...
and all the costs adds up...hydro, gas, telphone, etc etc....
making them quite is a way to be....
that sounds more reasonable...

keep them there, pay for their board and food and medical
personnel. That process may take a long time and of course, the center is a short term solution. We want to at least do
something now, that we can stop the needle sharing to stop
the spread of HIV. My point is, the cost of building this center will
only be a fraction of the cost of sending people to rehab. | |

Fraction of cost?
how effective will the rehab centre gonna work? HIV still gonna spread no matter u are giving out free needles or not. it is a social problem that wont go away no matter how many rehab centre u build.... there will be more and more drug addicts and have u ever think about attracting more drug addicts around the world cuz there is this town so called" vancouver" got this 5 star rehab centre for all of us and it is FREE!!!
That is why this town sucks...ppl cant really use their brain to think. imagine u lived downtown east side and all these drug addicts are in your neighborhood...and this "rehab centre" is just across the street from where u lived....
