I don't know much about Expo, but i heard it's a success.


Bring refugees and ppl on welfare? Not really sure what that means at all. You mean immigrants like us or ppl that comes to the city to look for a better opportunity? Are ppl in Vancouver no capapible of competing with poorer ppl that are willing to work for lower wages? Is squeezing ppl out of the opportunities the only way to ensure Vancouver's survival?



I guess everyone's needs and values are different. I don't have a car, so to me Skytrain is one of the best infrastructure around. It's fast. It's convienent. It's environmentally friendly. I can't wait for them to build the skytrain going from Richmond to Downtown. ^^


In recent years, the population growth in the Lower Mainland has been tremendous. it would be fair to say that Vancouver is already beyound it's capacity. We have been seeing increase in air popultion, traffic congestion, and car accidents. In other words, Vancouver is long way overdue in its infrastructure spending. Think of roads, bridges, and skytrain as blood vessels within the city. How healthy would the city be if it's blood vessels are clogged up all the time.


Of course i am no expert. So i won't comment on where the money should actually be spend.

i don't think ti's fair to say that
like how often do u use canada place
gm place, pc, bc place and the 2nd narrow's bridge?

that stupid high way connects all the cities up north and
all the tourist that comes to bc to spend money up in whistler
and other places

if u live in pemperton, then maybe the highway isn't that
stupid anymore:)



think about the money we make back right til the event
during and AFTER the olympics have left...

it's a long term investment

did u guys know when did vancouver bloomed into
international stardom?

it was during the world fare of 86... after that
it brought vancity to the international stage..

this is gona be one big opptrunity for the world to know
vancouver better, to let them know how beautful our city
is...

some ppl say they should invest money in the low income
ppl and homeless

i dono about u, i rather have a 2billion$ rave party
rather than giving them to the homeless... (the one who can
work)

as for low income familes, the village after the olympics
will be used for low income families and it will not be
torn down..




i herd on the radio today... some women said something
really true

"i used to be a "no" voter , but now that vancouver has
the olympics, we all as vancouverites should support the games
to the max, because it's gona be here whether u like it or
not, so why not make the best of it"
