according to my communication text book
it was first use by US government for top secrect transfer..
more use of it in the 60's by universities and more government.
it has NO exact date were the idea came from..
because similar device such as telegrapher was use before the WWII
plus most of it was still in testing and developing age
during the 1950's and 60's
... only private usuage was for Stock Exchange through "simple" e-mail
(only digital numbers) at speed of 218 bytes/s
