倫敦泰晤士報二十五日報導，英國一項研究宣稱，天才多半是男人，男人的平均智商比女人高五分。

這篇將發表在英國心理學期刊上的研究報告指出，男人平均智商比女人高，因此較適合高度複雜的工作。

這篇報告的作者歐文和林恩的結論是，男女智商的先天差別，有助於解釋為何獲得諾貝爾獎的男人比女人多，或是西洋棋王多半是男性。

他們指出，隨著智商級數增加，高智商男性比女性多的情況更明顯，智商一二五可稱為高智商的初級，男性是女性的兩倍，智商高到一五五的天才等級，男人是女人的五點五倍。

曼徹斯特大學資深講師歐文說，他對於這項研究結果感到不安。不過他說，雖然許多學者堅稱「兩性智商的差別沒有意義」，但證據很明顯。

這項研究以兩萬四千名學生為研究對象，勢必會使上周由英國廣播公司（BBC）主播柏克引發的兩性戰爭更激烈，柏克抱怨「現在生活都依照女人的規定」。他說，女人主宰社會，男人充其量只是精子捐贈者。

厄斯特大學心理學名譽教授林恩在本月的心理學家期刊信函中指出，男女智商差異可以拿腦部大小和智商之間的關係解釋。他說：「男人的腦部比女人大百分之十左右，較大的腦帶來較強的腦力，因此男人的平均智商一定比女人高。」

林恩以發表煽動性的研究結果聞名，他發表一些論文，主張不同種族的智商有差別。他研究六十個國家的繁榮程度和民眾智商後，在二零零三年發表一篇引起爭論的報告，認為國家繁榮程度及其人口平均智商有明顯關聯。

frankly, there are most girls than guys in most universities. since IQ predicts one's academic performance, women should be have higher IQ than men. :shrug:

it wasnt long ago that women werent able to go to school because that wasnt the "proper" lady thing to do..
gaining knowledge through academic i would say plays a big part in IQ tests, and being able to win the noble prize and all that shit..
and wasnt there already a study that said that women's brain are on ave 5% bigger than men?
and wasnt there another study that says there's no relationships between how smart a person is and how big their brains are? :shrug:
