Are you a considerate person?

Well.. it's like this.

I was working yesterday.. or the day before... this lady came in with a $5 bill to buy a $2 lottery ticket from me. Sure I greeted her and all and smiled like I treat every other customer.. at the end of the transaction she asked if I could give her some change for the bus.

So since she's got $3 worth of change, I took the Lonnie and i gave her 4 quarters back along with her toonie... then she said.. Oh can you make that into two Loonies for me?

I looked into my cash register and sees that I only have a few loonies left, so I nicely said to her.. "sorry Ms, but I really can't 'cuz i'm really low in loonies" Then this nice lady all the suddent got all angry and said, "WELL I ONLY CAME IN HERE TO GET SOME CHANGE. THAT'S WHY I BOUGHT THIS TICKET"

i was like.. uh.. yeah... but I gave you what I can, like normally I would give ppl some change if I can do it. but if i can't, I just can't.

and she went on and said, "You know wut? I am never coming back to your store again. What ever happend to people? they are all so inconsiderate now"

and she proceded to walk out of the store...

This really puzzles me... she's calling me an inconsiderate person.. what about herself? Maybe she should stop and think about what she's saying. I didn't do what she asked me to because I don't have the ability to do her a favor. But yet she's demanding it from me. How is she being considerate??

Oh well.. I'm used to these types of person now anyways... but that really got me thinking.. sometimes we are so Ego-centric.. self-focused.. that we only see things from our prespective.. I questioned myself.. do I do what that lady just did to me moments ago to other people? Am I an inconsiderate person? Do I often put myself in other people's shoes and think from the other person or people's point of view?

If you ask yourself that same question, what would you have yourself called? Considerate? or inconsiderate?

not sure what I was trying to get at lol~

i guess I was sort of just wanting to say that.. I think we can all make the world a more friendlier place to live by doing a lot of little things when we interact with each other.

Working as a cashier, I was given the oppertunity to see many different types of people. There are those really nice customers that always smiles and chats with you when they come~ and then there are those that comes in.. with a stone face.. gets the stuff they wanted.. hands you a bill.. grab their change.. and left the store with out saying a word nor moving a muscle on their face...

sometimes I just want to say.. "hey man.. WTF?" can't you at least smile or something?

I do..sometimes...i would like to think i think abt others when i say certain things or do certain things..
though sometimes i know my words or actions may hurt that person i would still consiously do it..but that's only cuz i dont like the person

alot of the times..esp when i am emotional i go off on rampages giving stinky faces to my family and 說話都很衝
and i know i am doing it, and i know i shouldnt be doing it cuz it's not exactly good to them..
and not like they pissed me off or anything like that i was just emotionally depressed and dont feel like smiling or talking to anyone nicely...

but then i only do that with family members..like my mom and brother..

i dont know...abei am i a considerate person?XD

It's harder to say between friends, cuz sometimes friends treats friends differently. Sometimes we forget and let those little things go.

But I am talking about interactions between strangers, or people that you arn't really familiar with.

Like in the neighbourhood that you live in. If you're outside your house doing some work.. say.. washing your car, some lady walks by with their dog. Would you totally ignore them even though you made eye contacts? or would you smile and say hi?

I dunno~ i guess I'm trying to say that.. it's little things like this that makes Canada such a nice place to live in..

you know what's I considered a little rude???

customers that comes into the store to buy things wearing their iPOD, CD walkman.. FM radio.. wutever.. You see them come in and you says HI THERE~ they don't even know becasue they have their music on so loud they can't even hear themselves... and then they gets what they come in to buy and brings it to the counter... you ring the items in and tells them a total... THEY STARE AT YOU and SHOUTS OUT "WHAT?! HOW MUCH!?" like u don't speak english and they just can't understand you or something...

like.. FOR GOD'S SAKE! TAKE YOUR FREAKEN HEADPHONES OFF for a min then maybe you can hear me... =.="

it's not like my fault that you couldn't hear any thing... why are you shouting at me... =.="

sure sometimes they speak louder cuz they have their music on so loud... but come on.. it wouldn't hurt if you would just take it off for a moment.. then maybe.. just maybe you can hear what I was saying...

i'm a cashier too, and i hate customers. some people are out simply looking for trouble. that's y i always say the minimal amount of sentences to get the job done. they ask me questions, i tell them that all comments and complaints can be made to the manager on the second floor, have a nice day.
