two days ago
i was moving so i filled gas 3 times. Not full tho

by the 3rd time they won't let me use it, but they made me go inside
to sign receipt rather than pay at the pump

i asked them..

they said it's a visa - petro can system. visa will automatically decline
if they feel u've used a card too much at a gas station in one day
or one week wutever...

but kinda gay since wut happen if i wana go on a long distance trip?

that's not a bad system for consumer protection though.

My mom had her MasterCard just suspended w/o a call because she pumpped gas three times in a day (payfing for relatives that came and rented cars)

the next day they went to Victoria... and her card got declined =.="

good thing she got an other card to use...


called the MC security the next day and MC rep. told her it's precautionary system so they just suspended her card after paying for gas 3 times the night before they went to Victoria...

Kind of Gay though, that they didn't even call to confirm...

but i guess they've had too many complaines so they will call now....

cuz she's usually not here so she dosent use her visz except for a monthly long-D phone bill..
but once in a while my brother use her visa to pay for tutition, and it got declined..
we called in to ask abt that, and they told us cuz there's usually no activities with that visa, and they were afrid someone might have stolen it or something~
but come on! should give a call!

What I suspect is that some skimming device is fitted to the pump... people here have put them on the bank's automatic teller machines and it records everything and also the security number via camera.

Just keep an eye on the balance online if you can... you normally have 72 hrs to dispute any funny expenses.

Btw, there's also a 6 digit number on the back of the card.. some places request this.. some don't but it's a number that has nothing to do with the card number nor expiry date.

that could happen too, when they put something over the card slot. so when you insert and remove your card it will record your card number.

If they found the pump was tempered with they will inform VISA and RCMP... and it would probably make it to the news too..

but yeah, you can never be too careful :)
