Hello my lovely people~~

I want to do my school final project on interactive furniture assmbly instructions.... since rumor has it that IKEA's instruction sux~

but it's been years since i got anything there~ so i just need some of you to share some of your experience with me

could either be ikea or any sort of assembly problems

So if you could please answer the following questions for me~~

1. What product?
2. Where did you purchase it?
3. What's the instruction layout?
top to bottom? all words? boxes? written instructions as well as pictures?
4. If it's words + pictures.. is it 50-50 % words + picture or 30 - 70?
5. how familiar you are with the product you treid to put together?
6. did the instructions help? or do you think it could be improved? and how?
7. how was the experience in general?

5. Not familiar at all
6. I had the Ikea guy come in to put it together for me, he does this for a living and it took him over 2 hrs putting the bed together... He was like I am not going to put this bed together ever again! XD

yes the instruction helped, but Ikea furniture usually requires special tools. the tools they provided really sucked.

it was okay; it took about 20min with the help of my friend.

1. Couch
2. IKEA
3. Pictures on a piece of paper.
4. All pictures
5. Not familiar with the furniture at all
6. It didn't help much, but the furniture was simple enough to figure it out.
7. Bad, they should design the couch so that it can be put together by one person in relatively short time. I guess it was designed so 2-3 people can put it together. It took me a long time by myself.

Ikea instructions isn't perfect but it isn't THAT bad.... I managed to put up a wardrobe, a few tall boys etc... didn't seem that hard.

well... the point is~~
there are complaints...
and making an interactive instruction~ to make it more clear would benefit everybody~~ esp those who can't follow the original instruction...
it's just making it better~ and easier for everyone..
of course i know there are people who can follow the instructions~ or dun even need the instructions~~
but~ it's for those other people who'd need more help~~~
