It depends on your usage.

For personal use, I would recommend a Cannon. It is compact, lightweight, good looking, and awsome quality.

I'm using a Nikkon CoolPix 880 right now. It is a very good camera. However I find it too big. It has good qualities and many advanced features. I would recommend a Cannon if you just want to take some personal pics. I bought the Nikkon because this is for business use and it is used to take very small detailed pics. For personal use, I think small and lightweight are the most important features you should look for.
