as for Fedor Fedorov, I'm disappointed to saw him get sent down so early. It's really sad, because, in the Pre-season, he was playing well along with Trevor Linden. there was good chemistry between them, but when Trevor got hurt.. Fedor looked out of place... but that's okay.. he's still young.. and with tons of skill.. there are just some aspects of the game that he can use the time in Manitoba to develope into a even better player..

as for Jovo, no doubt he'll be looking for a much bigger raise this year... but I think the Cancuks still have some bargening rights to try to keep the money down... it'll be tough, but I think it's not out of the question...

This is Brian Burke's game... he won't make moves that 'DON'T MAKE SENSE'... if someone comes and puts an offer on the table that do make sense, and can upgrade the club in any area... he won't be afraid to make the change. But as most ppl would say... If it ain't broke, why fix it
as for jovo's case, he is more of a offensive minded D i think

its scary to see if jovo/bert/morrison all leave vancouver..

and about malik trade.. well.. malik does make a lot of mistakes and turnovers!! you know... they are just backed up by cloutier so malik doesnt look ast bad... dont like him.. but i think he is still a good trade since he was with carolina team that went to stanley cup final.. he can be very useful in playoff... if canucks dont go deep, it would be an disappointment this year.. BUT.. we have crawford and everyone has more experience now.. and we are not playing those " destined to win cup" team anymore..

check the last 2 times canucks got eliminated, the team that beat canucks went on to win the cup . the last 3 times when nucks make the playoff.. ( '96 lost to colorado and they won the cup, 00 lost to colorado again, and they wont the cup, 01 lost to detroit, and they won the cup)..

this year.. there is no team with " destined to win" heart except maybe detroit with Cujo who has not won it yet..

oh well, interesting to see how nucks go this year in playoff.. and whether burke will swin a trade to improve..
dats cuz they were in 8th place for two years in a row. i agree with wat u say about malik.

sadly...
i think jovo have a big chance leaving....
look at our Def. we really don't need to trade for Malik at that time of the year...Bruke made the trade probably because he knows he won't be able to keep Jovo. If it weren't for the winning streak, I would think Jovo have already been traded away...

10 in a row!!!!
Canucks all the way
wat makes u think jovo is leaving?? i dun get it.

umm.. no.. your assumption is wrong.

how many teams except the last 2 years with the first seed wins the cup?? not many!! last 2 years in a row is rare exception if you look at the history of the teams winning. oh, well, and also west conference is a lot deeper, so west conference 1st/2nd seeds are actually the ones favorite to win the cup.

why nassy want to stay? ask him, its been talked on the sports news.

one reason why dkny think jovo may be leaving is because jovo actually refused to continue the contract talk and refused to sign, not until after this year, because they believe ( jovo and his agent) that his stake will be evern higher this year, which suggest they would want even higher pay, which then leads to canucks inability to afford him and sign him. well, at least this is what i think why jovo could be leavin, but the higher the price he wants and his value is increasing, the players/drafts that we get in return wont suck either. ( hopefully. ) we will see, but its about chemistry now, Jovo is a big part of this winning chemistry, no matter what!

Who dosn't turn the puck over...? Everyone does... but compare the fact that Malik is better defensively then Bryan Allen, Brian Halmer, and Nolen Bumgurdner... I think it's a good move. Halavc's salary is too much for someone who dosn't perform in the Canucks system... but with Malik, at least the Canucks Defense was upgraded some what with his size and long reach.

ya
i still think hlavac have wat it takes to be a 30 + scorer he just needs to play on a line where he fits. he cant find players he work well with. and malik, i kno everyone makes turnovers, but i think malik makes too many. as for bryan helmer, i really like him cuz i saw him played a lot last year.
u guys forgot about justin kurtz? wat happened to him?

Kurtz was called up last year and played well right off the bat, but later on... according to Canucks Management, his performance slipped and sort of.. I guess you can call it "taking it for granted".. so he was sent back down to the farm in favor of Halmer.. but if you compare Halmer to Malik, Halmer is not phyiscal enough to handle bigger players like Malik can.. and that's what Canucks can really use too.. a big D-man to handle the bigger forwards infront of Cloutier

Hlavac do have lots of skills, for sure. But he seems out of place in vancouver, and being the small market team that we are.. we can't keep a million dollar plus player who can't perform at the level that he's paid to perform...

helmer doesn't have the size of baumgartner and allen, and those 2 attributes were what the team was lookin for on the 6th and 7th defenseman..

so its too bad he didn't make it, because it finally seemed like he earned an nhl spot at 30 years old..
