| i don't like carter anyways, and a team doesn't need a star player to be successful. just look at detroit and how it beat LA.
in 2000, kobe, carter, and t-mac were contenders for the "next MJ" and the best player in the NBA.
now, carter is totally out of the category because he's not a complete player while kobe and t-mac have continued to improve every year. maybe due to injuries, whenever i see him play, he just popped 3s and rarely utilized his atheletism to draw fouls by driving in the lane. he cannot play defense too.
on the other hand, kobe and t-mac are a complete player. they can do everything: shoot 3s, mid-range, defense, dunk, etc.
i remember MJ criticized VC a few years back. MJ said VC is not a complete player, and VC should focus on improving his D. VC took that negatively and replied "i want to be myself. i don't want to be the next MJ." |
