Yes... BMW will bring out the 1 Series to combat Benz's A Class.

sort of like the A3?

A3 is just a VW Golf with Audi front end.
A2 is what Audi use to comabt A Class. It's made from the same ASF technology (aluminum structure frame) as A8.

Just want to said that BMW is switching strategy...

1,3,5,7 are going to be Sedan/Station Wagon
2,4,6,8 are going to be Coupe/Convertible
