Well we are crossing Passat out of the list. Our friends driving VW are having major problems.

What's the model your friend is driving. Also what year was it made?

personally i am not fond of either of them
but if I HAVE to choose
I would get Camry or Maxima since after all it is for the family

I'm not fond with either of them too. My very first idea was the TLS and ES300. However they don't want. Since they're paying for it so unless I make money to pay for the car, I don't have the authority to say anything.

You know exactly what I'm talkn about.

Well the list narrows to

1) Maxima
2) Camry
3) Mazda 6
4) New Accord

Which one will you pick?

You are going to lose a lot of money on depreciation for Maxima. Nissan is very close to putting out it's replacement. It will move up the class and size to compete against Toyota Avalon.

Camry side rear is butt ugly.

Mazda 6 is my choice for now.

Accord still don't know a ton about it.

97 Passat top of the line.
Problems
1) Power windows does not work properly. It opens, but can't close
2) A/C is having major problems. Fan doesn't work from level 1-3. Only work on level 4 which is really strong. Takes ~$800 to fix.
3) Door handles are breaking up. Loose, $$$ to fix.
4) Rubber trim around the doors are falling apart.
5) Probably more that I don't know.

The one above is a close friend of mine. Other people are owners of either Jetta, Passat, A4, A6 etc. They told me to stay away from VW/Audi. I'll regret it if I buy it.

Yup. Like I said, this is really bad time to buy car in this class.

My uncle used to own early 90's Audi in Taiwan and he spend more money in maintenence and fixing it then what he pay for it.

You know what 97 Passat is the last generation one. The current generation one started out in 98.

Yup. So I guess we will never know what VW/Audi will be like after a little while. I think most people will agree Japanese cars are most reliable. Even BMWs, MBs have some problems here and there sometimes.

BTW How you get so much cash?
And wux AE-86, S2000? Is that club or something?

u'll get AE-86 and S2000 as ur posts reach a certain amounts
thanks to a post whore thread which JDM partipate a lot in, he earned so many cash and the cars from that thread by post whoring
unfortunately that thread has been deleted

AE86 is a Corolla.

S2000 is a roadster
