Which Audi? Things to consider when comparing interior. Quality of parts and assembly gap tolerence.

Some parent's dont want to be eye catching.

There was a fiasco regarding the seat for IS300. Apparently it was false marketing and Lexus has change their site and brochures etc.

i am comparing A4 to 3 series. but i've sitted in A8, the interior again is not as good as used in S class (haven't tried the new 7 yet). and don't get me started with the noise.

i don't think driving a BMW or MB are eye catching, they are nice cars, but they don't draw many attentions especially in lower mainland.

really, i never heard of that and i think i am quite update with IS300 news, anyways i happen to love the seats. and you won't believe how much complement i got for the seats. it's comfortable, and provides good grab.

i don't think 3 series in NA are from south africa, they are from German.

The BMW salesman told me myself when my friend is buying his 3

All 3 series are from S.A except the M3

x5 3.0 is a pretty much road car
as a matter of fact it is so much a on-road car it doesn't really have the offroad abilities compare to other competitor SUVs

of course it can still go offroad but that's irrelvant here

if this is for ur family, I would say ur parents decision are more important than urs
if they like the 330Xi, then by all means get it

but if i am a middle aged man i wouldn't want to get a 3 series as u said they really care about image and i don't see driving a 3 series is helping their image anymore than a Toyota Camry
(sorry but it's true, to middle age ppl at least my parents they think the entry level German cars like the C-class, 3-series are not really that luxury at all so they don't really feel a sense of pride driving it anymore than a Toyota Camry, to us of course is different but our opinion is irrelvant here)


so i think if i am a middle aged person I would rather drive something like a MB E-class, Audi A6 or BMW 5 series or even better, something that suits more of a middle aged man....however since they or u want AWD that pretty much rules out the BMW and ur parents don't want Audi so that leaves MB E-class 4 matic as the only choice left sedan wise

but if ur dad wants an SUV, and since u guys don't go offroad that makes BMW X5 3.0i a good car to get

test drive it and u'll know it doesn't drive like a SUV, it is pretty much sedan like

My view on BMW 330Xi

Good power even with auto tranny - avoid modified WRX and S4.

It can take you to Whistler in January - outhandle ML and SUVs on sea to sky highway.

Typical BMW road manner - driver inspiring, safer than rwd Ci.

Interior is German standard - reminds you that this is an Euro.

Simply a nice car - most of the others would dig.

And it's got much better resell value than Audis

first, i don't think audi has nicer interior, i sit on audi's quite often.
the buttons are too plain, and leather is not as good as Bimmers and MB's, and the plastic used is even worse than my IS. i only like its gauge though

for us, maybe image doesn't matter, but for ppl at our parent's age? i think they do. maybe it's a bad thing, but it's the way the world works.

the interior in IS is good enuf for me. it's quiet, smooth, and comfortable enough. the material/stereo used is better than those used in toyota's (of course not as good as other lexus, MB, audi..etc etc, but it's the cheapest among all) . and no one buys IS for its luxury anyways

You really sure A4 doesn't have the nicer interior than 3 series and BMW? Try to look one in dealer and you will be amazed how much improved over the last generation
also are you sitting on the fake leather instead of the real one
because 1.8T doesn't offer real leather
If IS300 interior is good enough for you...
Most european car is good for you too
except the volvo lower class
and also if you really want a good AWD system
only Subaru, WRX and Audi offer the best AWD system for market
Yes I own an Audi..but I own a BMW before and it is X5
and the AWD system on BMW and Mercedes-Benz (even worse than BMW system) is basically controlled by electronic but the Audi is using mechanical which means they active when it slip at that moment is instant

The 330xi doesn't offer the real sport suspension
drive one and spin it around
and its body roll is....WOW
the A4 quattro offer both sport suspension and the AWD system
although I agree the new desgin on the rear is kind of rear
but I think is well fit for your parents

You are comparing the A8 with the S class and even the 7 series
OMG
the A8 is so damn old design and the S class is new design
and the S class has been always the leader of its class
MB must doing the best of that car
I think the 3 series is the worst interior design (I own a BMW before) and the MB is the most modern desgin the A4 is in the middle
althought the 3 series is well know of the best of handling in its class
but that is for RWD platform
if you say AWD
I can't say 3 series is the best in its class
I would say WRX is

nono, it's not like they care about image THAT MUCh. it's me won't feel comfortable if they drive a subaru and i drive a lexus. and my lexus is still too young for them. as for a bigger car? we have a big car at home now

ya, as a8 vs s class, it's a old design, i think u r right.

and i already said that IS300 is the worse interior in its class.

i am not doubting audi's awd, but it's my parents who make the decision. they don't consider audi's, there's nothing i can do about it... i've tried to ask them to test drive it, but they are just not interested.

for a price of 330xi, i would go for an s4 any day :)
