Question about RX-7[求助]

大家知道如果買了 RX-7....FC3S or FD3S.....(Turbo) or (twin turbo)
因為轉子引擎很脆弱, 所以如果引擎出了問題要怎麼辦?.....哪裡有修轉子引擎的?....
or.....如果需要購買新的轉子引擎....又要多少錢呢? or 二手的!
那麼換引擎的工錢大概又要多少呢?.....
因為如果買舊的 FC, NA 的大約是....$3000....狀況要看情況....
但是如果引擎有問的話, 價錢會降的更低.....那如果換顆 turbo engine 的話, 如價錢在...
$3000 以下的話, 那就很划算啦...因為舊的 FC turbo 狀況好的也要差不多....$9000!
FD 的話, 那價錢就更高了......而且引擎也不便宜~.....

rotary engine fragile? not really la...
most of the time it's because the owners donno how to take care of their engines

rotary engines require special engine oil with special additives, if the owner were to add off-the-shelf synthetics or racing oil it's gonna kill the rotors. Although synthetic oil is better for ordinary piston cars, it's no good for rotary engines

the twin turbo setup is very troublesome, it's got too many vacumn hoses and valves that control the sequential action...read it from some board, what u could do is to diable the sequential turbos and have the 2 turbos run in parallel

or better yet, ditch the TT setup and get a single, bigger turbo

FC's are more reliable than FD :)
cuz they got single turbo, so none of that sequential turbo problem found on FD's

Are you considering FC/FD?
I'd go with FC cuz once you buy it, you pretty much can strip everything down and rebuild to your specifications. Fix up the chassis and all suspension components, weld in a roll cage, tub the rear, swap engine and fuel system, redo the interior again, etc.
With FD... it would be more expensive, and if you ever seen the bare chassis of the FD you would understand why these cars feel so "loose". There are a lot of holes drilled to save weight.

Rotary boards says FD has too much problem because of Turbo overheating parts inside the engine compartment. Apparently Mazda rushed the design of RX-7. The Apex seal for the rotary engine is also not strong enough. Not to mention a lot of people that don't know how to maintain or modify a Wankel.

ooo....that's why Japan makes so many chassis stiffening parts for the FD...hehehe...

13B rotary is NOT fragile, but u have to do the homework and know how to care of the engine
a compelete rebuilt 13B roatary will cost u around 3k, u better leave some budget for the engine rebuild if u're getting a rx-7, u'll have to rebuild the engine sooner or later. and the apex seals have to be changed constantly. another thing to pay attention to are the turbos, a well maintained turbo last for 90k , u'll have to leave some budget for turbo rebuild too, cost around 3k, or u can convert it to single turbo for around 4500.
my mechanic is one of the rotary specialists (heard there're 3, one in north van), i can hook u up if u want.

the best thing to do is using mineral oil and change it every 3000km, or more often if u abuse the car.

my mechanic has a racing lisence and a first gen RX-7 race car(yes, totally stripped interior with everything upgraded for track use), he got the second place last time at mission racing in the GTS(or GST??? forgot) class. he showed me his record and he was actually faster than the guy in the first place, but he has some oil leaking problem in the end so couldn't catch that guy. lol looks like 4 replacement engine isn't enough(yes he has 4 race ported 13B rotary)
by the way, the first place was a 280Z! haha Z car is da best:biglaugh:
