[問題] for RSX 160 HP engine

yesterday i was driving on a downhill road where there was a limit of 40 km/hr...

so then i geared at 2nd so that i didn't have to brake all thet time...

but some weird thing happened....

when it went downhill quite smoothly and the RPM was around 1600 (i just let go very slowly since a red light was in front of me.. still downhill...)

without my foot on the gas pedal... the car just increased the RPM to 2000 itself and actually it speeded up a little bit...

i was like what the hell.... and i tried it again... it happened again so i am sure it was not my stupid instinct shxt....

what was it????????????????

hehehe...

yeah this i don't fully understand ..

but my guess would be, that it downshifted again by it self...

hmmm.... simply....

i was driving downhill...

gear on 2nd to prevent the car going down too fast...

i didn't have my foot on the gas...

the rpm was first steady at around 1600...

but then it rose up to 2000 itself and the car speeded up a bit...

after two seconds... it went back to 1600 again and the car slowed down...

from the beginning to the end... i didn't gas the car...

why did the rmp rise up to make the car speed up when i didn't gas it??

You drive manual right?
So you downshift to 2nd gear as you are going down the hill
What were you doing with your clutch during this time?

nope.... it's a auto....

i did NOTHING but just downshift the gear to 2nd...

and the rpm 1600->2000->1600->2000 just kept on going all the way...

btw... the speed was around 30 km/hr something....

not fast though... i am wondering what was behind that rpm 1600->2000->1600->2000 in my car..

at lower gear.. u have higher REV to keep high torque... right?
this is normal if you shift down to 2nd gear or 1st gear...

if u drive AT, better leave ur gear at D, not sportsshift...

AT is not meant for manual shifting, it could damage the transmission, and u dont gain any time by doing manual AT shifting.....

Honda's AT is not as tough, the torque convertor could be damage if u do manual shifting... .....

i had heard couple prelude with SS and accord v6 AT had transmission failure....
