I had a chance to hear it drive by once and it didn't sound stock. I wouldn't expect too much though.

I only heard it once...all I could hear was the loud exhaust...
of course..it was because he's in the aberdeen parking lot..
What kind of sound did you hear???
My friend's RSX engine changed sound (became a lottttttt louder) after he changed the intake...

Evo 5 onwards had the puffed out guards and wider track compared to the normal Lancer. Very obvious from any angle. Also Evo has 5 stud though the pic shows he has 5 stud too. Maybe the US market got the 5 stud on all Lancer.

If you are really serious, check the rear suspensions to see if it has a rear diff and driveshaft. Serious floorplan mods are required to put the 4WD drivetrain in a FWD car.

Also this "GSR" version has Brembo brakes (4 pot Front, 2 pot Rear). The pic looks like it has a 1 pot front brake. The RS has 2 pots at the front and 1 pot at the rear.

I saw that EL "Evo 5" couple times. It's not fast at all... loud exhaust not equal to power! :)

Seriously, turbo and FWD (that's if this person hasn't paid the extra $$$$$$ to transplant a rear axle and driveshaft).. I hope he knows how to turn the corner... torque steer everywhere!

I heard that he spent like $10000 just for the Evo exteiror...
