When buying a new car u actually don't really have to think so much into if it's up to industrial standard or not because there is WARRANTY. I bet it that you guys will sell your car before the second "wave" of problems come ANYWAY (which is aboout 8 years for most Japanese cars I've seen) so how many problems the car get when it gets old makes no difference to you.

Only people who are considering second hand car (that is going to come to the second "wave" of problem age)will really need this chart as a reference.

so for example if you are to choose the old SL500 (THE TANK) or the SC400 made in the same year you might want to think twice before getting the tank.

but its weird though. Toyota/Lexus are the same.. and Toyota has more problems..?

but given the stats posted here, Lexus has significantly fewer problems than all cars.. almost 2x as fewer. then again, general perception is still " Euro is the best"..
