I think it's not good to put doubled sided tape on..tho.
coz' even if it's gonna make it stable and strong but when u are considering selling your car later...you have to worry about getting rid of the tape left on the car after u manage to take the license plate off.
And it could and possibly will damage the car paint..when u try clean it. Then u waste more money on painting the car front.
and I don't normally put the plate on..but if i really got caught just find an excuse just like somebody had said earlier..it fell off. someone trying to steal it. and putting it on windshield looks just as ugly i personally think.
Sigh..unless the strong doubled sided tape has clear, see thru. quality.
Or else i would not consider using it.

This is where fishing line and a bit of prepsol comes in handy. Once you cut the double sided tape with the fishing line, soak the rest in prepsol and the whole double sided tape should be easier to remove.

Anyway, I can't put it on any other way apart from drilling holes at the top of the plate nor dead in the middle of my plate (coz my plates come without any holes).

dont u guys have 2 plates?
or it's a mod to take off front plate?
some cars just look better without the plate in the middle. Ex. Ferrari, porsche, or any car dat you request no hole drilling when u picked up the car.. It just looks better...In car show too many nice cars with no front plate.

Same as double-taped plates... In an event of accident, it MIGHT flight off and hurt some one.......

Oh, and YES, put the plate on dash is as good as don't have front plate.... Cops can still give you a ticket for it.....
well..my plate USE to be screwed on..the legal way..
and then my brother got into an accident..
and it flew off..=_="
it wasnt even a big accident..just a small bump~
so wut's the point...screwed on plates arent that strong either...:shurg:

Hehe...

Well, most cars have front plate holder..... So even if the front plate flew off, it's not that "fatal" a flying piece of metal....

Besides, I don't know how you guys mounted your plates, but my brother has bump/rip the front bumper pretty bad w/my old Jeep GC.... and the plate never flew off.... The plate holders should have at least 2 screws holding it on bumper, another 4 screws hold the plate itself on plate-holder.....

Indeed... But I still took off front plate/plate holder because...

1. The plate holder is rubbing against my bumper, and leaving a horizontal mark on my bumper....

2. The plate holder is held on bumper with just 2 screws, both bolted on from the bottom.... It just won't hold it tight and would move around when driving at HWY speed OR might even flight off in an accident.....

3. It looks better w/out front plate!!!!!

This is where a piece of foam comes in handy to wedge it between the bumper and the plates. I had the do the same for my rear plates (when it was screwed and when the plates weren't so long)... no marks or anything.

Looking at that ... I think the plates would bend where it overhangs under the bumper.... or, get those black number plate supports for the front. Sorta surrounds the plates and that thing is screwed onto the number itself.
