There was a website containing all the info about shipping a car back to Taiwan. I checked it once, and found that it's not worth it. The exchange rate is way to high right now, so if you ship a SL500 or Z-series back to Taiwan, it's gonna be pretty much the same as you buy one of those in Taiwan.

the total is abt the price of ur car plus around 60% tax!!!
i did it few times already!!

what car did u bring back to tw?

actually, i am wondering, if this process does cost less than buying a car in tw, why not everyone just buy a car this way?

if u r talkin abt high-end carz, then yes...if would be cheaper than tw for sure....
but if we r talk abt cars like janpenese cars or some m-benz or bmw like c or 3....then no...it gonna cost the same price or maybe even more.
so that's why i said "IF" it's a SL.

n also.....if u buy this kinda car....u dun get warranty, i think it's the main reason that ppl dun really like this way loh!!! unless u get the car from those 貿易商 in tw~~u might pay a lil bit more, but u get warranty.

dont u need to pay a lot of tax in TWN as well, just buy the same car in Taiwan!? Cost roughly the same after everything.. unless the car is not being sold in Taiwan.. I mean. unless if you want to ship a car that Taiwan dealers does not sell, and if they dont, then there is a good chance you get away with a lot of tax.. :)

I know.. because my dad did it a few years ago..
