why would you want a WRX when u have the money to get a sTi............??


227 vs 300hp seems a big difference with the same engine.

if you have the money to get a STi... you'd go for the STi

The STi gets a EJ25 with AVCS (active valve control system), making 300HP at 6000rpm and 300lb.ft torque at 4000rpm..

WRX only gets a EJ20 that makes 227HP at 6000rpm and 217lb.ft torque at 4000RPM

STi also gets reinforced internal parts for the engine.. a better turbo... as well as a manually controlled water spray intercooler.

but it's not just abt the engine... STi gets a 6 speed short shift tranny and DCCD (Driver controlled center differencial) you can manally select to send the torque 50/50 between front/rear or up to 65/35 rear wheel biased depending on how u want your car to drive and condition of your drive..

then there's the specially tuned suspension.. brembo brakes... and 17" BBS rims with Potenza tires..

although you could upgrade your brakes.. suspension.. rims and tires on a WRX to one up on the STi... but you won't be able to get the drivetrain... which is really the heart and soul of the STi..

so if you can get a STi... it's a no brainer

Evo 8 MR will be on sales in the States by the end of this yr. That one is worth getting, cuz it have 6 speed, Super AYC and it's lighter than regular Evo8.

just to let you guys know, moding a car w/ 10k isn't a lot... , well, depends on what u are looking for.

Example on my budget for my FC

Intercooler: 1200 USD (price is also depends if u want a 3 roll or 2 roll intercooler)

Full Exhaust System (including the down pipe and cat back): roughly around 1500 USD

Suspension: roughly around 1500~2000 USD

Misc: Fuel Injecter, Fuel pump, gauges, SFAC, Blow off : 2000 USD

these add up around 7000 usd roughly 10k CDN (not including the labour)

Not to mention you still have a stock drivertrain, stock rims and wheels, stock turbo and brakes.

So I think if you have extra money, you should definitly go for STi. 300HP compare to 227HP. I don't think even if you throw 10k in a WRX you will get the same performance compare w/ STi stock. Maybe in a stright line, but definitly not on track.
