| Program-wise: SFU is more flexible.
In UBC, you only do course selection once a year, meaning you need to decide on your courses for the next year in a short period of time. SFU course selection is by semester (happens every 3 month), this is beneficial for someone who decided to change major after their first semester.
In UBC, you do not know the final exam date for your courses at the time of course selection. It is almost impossible to space out the exams so you have enough time to study for each. In SFU, final exam dates are posted at the time of course selection. Students are free to take courses with final exam dates that suits their needs. This may not seem like a big deal, but your course grade depends on this since most final exams are worth 50% or more.
In UBC, if you fail a course and retake it, they take the average of the two. In SFU, they will take your best grade and not the average.
SFU requires no LPI, UBC does.
