| ok the conclusion ~
after taking both at langara college, i got the same mark.
linear algebra is unlike anything that i've taken before. the material is extremely abstract, and the course is based on theorems and proofs. i think the equivalent course at ubc and sfu is much easier after seeing their finals since their tests are all calculation based. our tests are 98% based on proofs. i think calculation is easier since it seems more like "normal" math.
about calculus 3, i agree with the "engineers" above, it's pretty easy. the only hard part is probably the amount of materials that needs to be memorized. you don't really need to remember all the materials from calculus 1 and 2 since calculus 3 rarely asks you to differentiate or integrate some crazy functions like those in calc 1 or 2. |
