I study university transfer courses from this semester in Kwantlen.If I plan to transfer to UBC in 2006 September, is that mean I must complete 54 credits with require courses before 2006 Summer semester?I saw the doucument deadlin is May 1st for September semester.I may not have my transcript for summer semester.

yes and no...

if u didn't complete 54 credits before the deadline, you will be evaluated based on year 2 entry. hence, if you are accepted, you are accepted as 2nd year.

however, after you completed your summer and met the year 3 requirement, they will promote you to third year. but keep in mind that this will take place in august, so many 3rd year courses will be full by then. although they have a policy that they will guarantee you seats for courses that are required, you won't get the schedule/prof/electives you want. so you may have classes from 8:30 - 7 everyday with 5 hour breaks.

furthermore, if you just miss 3rd year entry by a few courses or credits, you will not be able to register for many 3rd year courses since you are classified as a 2nd year, and 2nd years register after 3rd years. this will delay your graduation date for sure.

like i said, you should find out your exact goals. if you want to graduate in time, try to transfer to ubc with all the 2nd year courses/requirements done at college.

Sorry,I always ask you a lot of questions.But I really want to make everything clear.Otherwise I can not fall asleep.Now, I have some questions about studying in Columbia college.

1 I want to study busi 290,291,econ207 ,and two non-commerce electives in Columbia college this September .I want to return Kwantlen in 2006 Spring.I want to know do I need to transfer all courses I complete in Kwatlen before I studying in Columiba? Or do I need to only the courses which are the prerequistes for busi 290.291,and econ?

2 I saw one of the prerequites of busi 290 is English099 .If I have credits for English 1100( equal to English 100 in Columbia), do I need to study English 099?

3 I saw two of the tests Columbia required are tofel and lpi .My score of these two tests are eligible to enter Columbia.Do they require these test core be sent directly from ets and ubc?

the courses are not difficult, but the teachers aren't that good. you will need to learn the materials by yourself.

just take an official transcript to columbia when you apply.

i think you can take up to 5 during the summer term. i have no idea when the term starts. just check the calendar.

i can transfer 100 credits to ubc if i want. just UP TO 63 credits can be used TOWARD YOUR DEGREE.

smart. i think you should just contact ubc directly. i'm not a professional advisor. the information i give MAY be wrong. i know the commerce program at ubc is currently undergoing MAJOR CHANGES. this means the transfer requirement MAY change.
