i know several commerce people who's going for law after they graduate. some of them also finished their LSAT.

yeah...i knew of 2 from my year....but haven't really seen them on msn...so.

i guess i wanna know what the timeline is like (if i remember correctly, i should be studying now and taking the LSAT during summer?). plus for those who've written it, it'd b nice to get some tipz!

i wanna know .....what diff types of law we can get into. i realize i can search for it on the ubc site, but i'm lazy like that....

+ anything they wanna tell me! hehe.

i've always been interested in law....actually that's why i went into commerce, it was the closest thing.

but i THINK i saw it on the site that you can still write the lsat at the latest in feb as well.. i THINK i saw it saying that..but not quite positive...

oh really? do you know what the stats are like?

both friends i know who wrote the previous LSAT thought it was easy. One of which had somewhat better grades and was accepted to quite a few law schools. not sure about the other.

You thinking of staying at UBC for law? UVic has a better lawschool eh. hehe, in HS i had "twin" who also wanted to get into law and we said we were gonna meet each other at UVic. mm....so long ago....

they give an average gpa and average lsat score in the site.. but i cant remember wut it is off by hand.

i have lots of older friends (more like my parents' friend's sons/daughters). most of them went to law schools in the US. they get paid alot..compared to the ones here.. (well obviously..it's canada)
and our accountant who want to ubc, queens, and stanford... siad that the first choice'd of coz be schools in the US, 2nd'd be schools in the east side of canada.. like queens or something...

i really dun wanna stay in ubc cuz yeah i heard it sux...
but US ones are so damn $$$ plus it's far away... and queens is far away also
i dun wanna go long d with my bf ><
but i know .< love shouldnt interfere with my education ><

oooh, what's the website?? just the UBC law one?

hehe, that's what they told me.. and they didn't even study that long for it. they said it's v. important to do a lotta those sample questions....but that's it. :shrug:

oh! i think...if i remembered correctly, my friend wanted to go to queenz for law. haha, i almost went there for my BCom....*sigh*...but it's next to a jail! hmm....at least that's what i tell msyelf to make me feel better...

i didnt go there because.. well it's kinda far.. and err...i had a bf then too (not the current bf i have)... i felt stupid not going there cuz we broke up during the summer before i went to university..
but then i comfort myself by thinking that if i went to queen's i would've never met my bf...@@

about love >< i trust him totally. but i think it's gonna be my problem mainly... im kinda spoiled. and we see each other every single day ...for the entire 2.5 years we've been together. we spend a whole lot of time together.. and i get upset and stuff when we dun get to see each other "enough"... so i dunno >< i dun wanna try long d. i havent heard of ONE couple that had it worked out -_-

well.....
wt i've leard.....(although i've never seen the actual exam)

lsat is a logic exam. there're many logical reasoning/critical thinking Qs. i think the test is out of 180. to get into one of the top schools, u need at least 170. if u r aiming for harvard, u need 175+.

other admission aspects are probably very similar to grad school. i'll list them in the order of importance:

1) GPA (4.00 scale) and the difficulty of your degree program (commerce is not considered as a very difficult degree )
2) standardized test scores (GRE/GMAT/LSAT)
3) letter of recommendations (these are valued GREATLY!)
4) admission essay/statement of purpose
5) LUCK! you always need it!

Hmm...i've never been to queenz....*envy*. tell me more...
haha, we have so much in common. well, the 'was gonna go to queenz part'. i didn't go b/c my parents changed their mind after i got accepted and decided it was not the way to go. argh....but same for me too, if i had gone to queenz, i wouldn't have met my bf.

wow, that's a lotta time togther...hehe sounds like you'd defintely go through withdrawal..hehe. but hmm....well u wouldn't wanna regret not going somewhere you relaly wanted to go b/c you didn't wanna be apart from your bf/vice versa. Never know...later on, you might end up blaming him for it.
