Hi I am Vicky, I am going to take TechOne on this fall term, does anyone have used books to sell me?

I just got here three weeks ago from Taiwan and I really need to make friends here ^^

By the way, I am looking for a short-term English tutor to practice my speaking, cause I speak really slow @_@ if you happen to know anyone is willing to teach in Burnaby(my place is near Burnaby campus) please contact me.

And if anyone want to find a tutor in learning Chinese or high school mathematics, I think I can do that job.^_^

ur english is quite good....since u've came to my604....i'm pretty sure many people here will be glad to be friend with u and help you out with english....

anyways....i was in techone before.....but they change textbooks every semester....
probably only the calculus text havn't change and the Tech 100 text havn't change as well...

but if u are interested, sometimes we held netmeets, u can come out and meet other my604 members~
some of us have been here long enough that we almost automatically speak english~ u can pratice ur english~XD

but i am not sure when's the next net meet..hahaha

Will courses on summer be easier? cause my sister used to studying in America ,and she told me there are just a few people taking the summer courses, so the professors are nicer when grading in summer, I am wondering whether it is the same here in SFU?

well....apparently thats how sfu make money....change text every semester.....and a lot of text that i bought....i probably only use it at most.....5 times ba..... :biglaugh:
i believe summer semester is over....so.....if ur takin summer semester next yr....mostly it will be the first semester courses thats available for u to take and the electives such as physics and business in the surrey campus....and in sfu......mostly its the student assistants that do the grading......so ....depends wat course u got.....most math class got student assistants that do the grading.....and some are .....very 機車.....

well..if u are having more problems with the spoken words u can try reading out loud
that will give u more practice..
and try talking to people in english..
i know it's kinda hard when u see ppl who can speak chinese u automatically speak chinese..
so maybe try to make some friends who dont speak chinese..
dont have to be white people, it can be HK people or koreans, japanese etc etc..
when i was in highschool most of my friends were korean or CBC so we spoke english all the time, while my brother had chinese friends (so he spoke chinese all the time) now a lot of people tell me i dont have an accent while they still think my brother does~
so i think it really helps if u speak~like a lot..
