I am assuming that u are downloading DivX stuff. You need to download DivX plug-in for windows media, or DivX player.

There is one other thing you can try.
Install PowerDVD and see if you can run the files.
PowerDVD contains some copyrighted codec that cannot be downloaded from the Internet. Hope this helps.

you need more codec..
there is this codec pack called nimo codec..
quite useful I think

I installed 2 codec.. and everything I download is no problem
